I had a mixed experience at St Athans Hotel. The rooms were small but clean and very comfortable. I appreciated the helpful staff and the great location, but I did notice the lack of air conditioning and some noise from outside. Overall, it’s a decent choice for budget travelers, though expect some trade-offs.

I had a mixed experience at St Athans Hotel. While the location was ideal for my needs and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, my room was quite small and basic, which affected my overall comfort during the stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room was very basic, dated, and smaller than I expected. It had a small sink and felt somewhat hospital-like. The shared bathroom situation was a downside for me, as I prefer private facilities.
Service

The staff were the highlight of my stay—extremely friendly, accommodating, and willing to help me with any requests. They even provided a fan when my room felt hot.
Location
8.0
The location was very convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Euston station, which made it easy to explore central London. Additionally, the area was relatively quiet for a city hotel.
Dining

While there was a cafe downstairs offering a discount on breakfast, I was under the impression that breakfast was included with my stay. I ended up looking for alternatives nearby.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel was basic in terms of facilities. The shared bathrooms did have some maintenance issues, and my room could have used a bit of sprucing up, but everything functioned well.

My stay at St Athans Hotel was quite a mixed bag. The quirky and green aspect of the place added charm, and the location was unbeatable for getting around London. However, I found the steep stairs a real challenge, especially with a suitcase, and the shared bathroom situation was not ideal. Overall, it served its purpose as a budget accommodation, but I wouldn't classify it as a traditional hotel.

Rooms
6.0
I stayed on the top floor, which was difficult to navigate due to the steep stairs and narrow hallways. The room was small but had a comfy bed. However, the shared bathroom was a bit of a trek.
Service
8.0
The staff were friendly and very helpful. They even assisted with my suitcase when I struggled with the stairs. This personal touch made the experience more pleasant.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic and made exploring central London easy. Just a short walk to both Russell Square and Kings Cross stations, plus close to various amenities and attractions.
Dining
7.0
Dining options nearby were decent. I found a lovely café at the basement which was both cheap and tasty. However, I wished the hotel had its own dining facilities.
Facilities

The hotel was clean and well-kept, but the bathrooms being on different floors was inconvenient. Despite that, the communal areas were nice and added a social vibe.

My stay at St Athans Hotel was a mixed bag. The friendly staff and clean rooms were definite highlights, making me feel welcome. However, the narrow stairs and shared bathrooms were less than ideal, especially for someone carrying heavy luggage. Overall, it’s a budget option with a great location but comes with some challenges that you should be prepared for. 😊

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was very small, which is to be expected at this price point. It lacked soundproofing, and I struggled with the cramped atmosphere. Although it was clean, I felt claustrophobic and uncomfortable, especially with a large unit taking up floor space instead of a toilet. 🛏️
Service
7.0
The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. They were friendly when I arrived and quick to assist with any queries. However, on my first night, the staff seemed indifferent, which was a bit disappointing.
Location

The hotel's location is fantastic! It's situated in a nice neighborhood, super close to the British Museum and within walking distance of Euston and Russell Square stations. I felt secure having someone always there to open the door when I returned.
Dining
7.0
There are free hot beverages available in the common area, which is a nice touch. I also loved the options nearby, with some great cafés and restaurants to explore.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel's facilities, including the shared bathrooms, are basic but functional. However, the narrow stairs and lack of in-room amenities like kettles were noticeable drawbacks.

My stay at St Athans Hotel was overall very pleasant. The location was ideal, just around the corner from the tube station and within walking distance of fantastic attractions like the British Museum. While the shared bathrooms were clean, I did wish for a bit more space in my room. The staff were friendly and helpful, contributing positively to my experience.

Rooms
7.0
I found the rooms to be basic but clean. I opted for a twin room with an en-suite, and while it wasn't fancy, it served its purpose. A downside was that some rooms felt a bit small and dated, but that didn't bother me too much for a short stay.
Service
7.0
The service was generally friendly, though I did encounter some staff who were a bit indifferent at times. However, there were others who were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, which really made my stay enjoyable.
Location
9.0
The location is truly fantastic. Being near Russell Square tube station made it easy for me to explore London. Plus, the Bloomsbury neighborhood is lovely and quiet, filled with parks and cafés.
Dining
7.0
While I had read that there was a café downstairs, it was closed during my visit. I found plenty of breakfast options just a short walk away which was quite convenient.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities were decent overall. I appreciated that there were plenty of toilets and showers available, but the lack of lifts could be challenging if you're carrying heavy luggage.
